Somizi Gets Dragged for His Comments About Former Idols SA Contestant Lloyiso’s Song. It goes without saying that Lloyiso Gijana is one of the most talented vocalists of our time. Starting from the Idols SA stage as a 16 year old to date, he has done a lot for himself in the industry.
Just this year alone, Lloyiso just showed how much of an important artist he is. In April this year, he flew oversees to perform at a wedding, when David and Victoria Beckham’s first born son Brooklyn Beckham, got married to American actress Nicola Peltz. The newlyweds had their first dance to “Only Fools Rush In”, performed by our very own Lloyiso. Even Vogue Magazine, featured him in an article they ran about the wedding.
Also this year, Lloyiso received his flowers when India Arie took to social media to express how much of a fan she is of him. The American singer and songwriter applauded his talent, saying he sings with so much heart and depth that it is striking. India is so much of a fan that she admits that she once watched Lloyiso’s videos in one night.
This past Sunday, one Idols SA Top 4 contestant, Thapelo, sang one of Lloyiso’s hist Seasons. As always, Thapelo aced his performance, and got positive feedback from the judges. One of the judges, Somizi even went as far as saying he performed the song better than the original.
“I have never heard the song before…..but I can assume you still sang it better than the original even though I have never heard it,” Somizi said.
Tweeps were enraged by this comment, and immediately took to Twitter toask Somizi to listen to Lloyiso singing the original.
