Levels! Unathi Bags a Doctorate Degree. One thing about our celebrities, they are all about leveling up their academics. Just this year alone, we have seen the likes of Oskido, Siphesihle Ndaba, Psyfo Ngwenya, Celeste Khumalo, Botlhale Boikanyo, Inno Sadiki, Thabiso Molokomme and so many others bag diplomas and degrees in different fields.
The latest celebrity to graduate this year is Unathi Nkayi. It goes without saying that, despite her success, she is big on education. After completing her high school studies at Victoria Girls High School, located in Grahamstown where she grew up, the media personality and musician furthered her studies at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. There she graduated with a degree in International Media Studies.
When she returned to South Africa, Unathi enrolled at Rhodes University where she graduated with a degree in Journalism. Her studies has definitely helped her to be a force in the competitive industry, where remaining consistent is difficult. Now Unathi has added yet another feather to her cap, by graduating with a doctorate degree.
Taking to her social media platforms to share the news, Unathi took us down memory lane, about how education has always been important in her family. She stated that her paternal grandfather named her Fundiswa, a name that she has lived up to as an academic.
“I now understand what he was doing for our family. His son and his wife, my parents left SA for 11 years and raised us out of the country for THAT specific reason. Because my grandparents wanted ALL of us to be educated at a time when apartheid wouldn’t allow it for us black people. My parents only saw their parents twice in this time because of THIS sacrifice.
BUT education looks good on me………signed future
