NOM, (real name Nomthandazo Mahlangu) is a young inspirational artist who is fresh in the music scene but is already making waves with her first single, Uthingo. YV: Who is Nom?
I am a singer and songwriter. I am young ,artistic and I love beautiful things.
YV: How did your love for music come about?
After a friend of mine mentioned that she thought I had a lovely voice, I started singing. I loved how music made me feel, how it was a new found way to express myself, how it connected me to people and how there is always music for every emotion. That’s how I fell in love with music.
YV: Tell us about your debut album ‘Uthingo’, what makes it unique?
Uthingo is a zulu word that means Rainbow. A Rainbow is a symbol of the passing of a trying time and in uthingo I remind the listener about this. However, uthingo is one of the singles from my upcoming album, love. Many of the songs on this album are originals. What makes love unique is that it fuses a lot of different sounds
