Everyone tries to lose weight during winter but to lose weight you need to watch what you put into your body. Make the right choices to get the right results from your body.
Put away the (food) scale
Portion control isn’t about measuring your food 24/7; it’s about ordering two appetizers instead of an entire entrée and cutting back on bread if you have more pasta. It’s so easy to gain weight from carbs, so rather cut down on them.
Keep fruit at work, in your handbag and in your drawers but make sure it doesn’t go bad. It helps during the I-need-chocolate part of the afternoon, have a fruit instead.
When you’re trying to shed a few kilo’s you should carry around a shaker cup of chocolate protein powder. Add some water and it tends to fill one up quickly you then avoid having drinks that have high calories in them.
Set limits, then go nuts!
Limit yourself by using smaller plates. Like smaller Styrofoam plates in the office/ on campus then you can have whatever you want on your plate. Having a small plate stops you from going back for more, you avoid overeating.
Floss for dessert
Brush your teeth right after dinner. It makes you not want to eat right before you go to bed because of the uncomfortable taste you get from the toothpaste mixed with your food.
Take a ‘before’ photo
Always take a before picture when you start trying losing weight. Like a picture where you’re completely naked and in just a sports bra and tights, put it up in your room by a spot you wake past everyday, what more do you need for motivation?
Avoid liquid calories
Cut out drinks with calories—juice, lemonade, and, hardest of all, after-work wine.
Pull out the skinny jeans
Wear something tight, something really tight, like those skinny jeans that you’ve been avoiding to put on for the past few months. It provides the extra bit of motivation to lay off the fries.
Fill a pitcher with water and cucumbers. It’s pretty, tastes really great and it feels like a treat. Cucumber in water just results in better hydrated skin, both great for your skin and weight loss.
Set aside leftovers
Serve yourself, then immediately pack the leftovers in a Tupperware container and store in the fridge.
Hot Water, Honey and Cinnamon
A mug of hot water, honey and cinnamon 30 mins before and after every meal helps your metabolism to digest food quicker.
