Claims that Yizo Yizo Was Stolen From A Black Creative Resurface

Claims that Yizo Yizo Was Stolen From A Black Creative Resurface. One thing about the entertainment industry, it has its own politics. There are always rumors of stolen ideas, stolen concepts, corruption and many other bad things clouding the industry.

A week ago, the industry lost one of the most talented thespians, Teboho Mahlatsi. The renowned writer, director and producer was involved in a lot of film projects in the country. Many know him as part of the groundbreaking and controversial youth drama Yizo Yizo (1999). The show is currently being aired on the streaming service Netflix. Yizo Yizo launched a lot of acting careers, as it introduced a number of upcoming talents.

As much as most people know, that the thriller series was Mahlatsi‘s brain child, there are some mushrooming reports that it is not his. There is a gentleman who claims that he created and submitted the idea back in 1997. Sadly for him one white female working at the SABC stole the idea and used Mahlatsi as a front.

When I created this, and submitted it to SABC in 1997, a white woman who was a commissioning editor at SABC at the time, used Teboho Mahlatsi as a front, today the same white lady owns BOMB Productions. We are where we are because of black sellouts, the guy said.

The individual also added that White people create stories about themselves but use black cast in those storylines. He gave an example of the latest Netflix erotic series, Fatal Seduction and Four Letter Word movie among many others.

Those are white concepts about white lives but hey use black casts, I don’t know why,” he said.
