With the ongoing scandals she has been in, it goes without saying that she definitely needs a strong legal team in her corner. From endless court cases to appearing before Zondo commission, Norma Mngoma hasn’t seen rest in a while.
Thanks to her legal representatives, she has been doing so well before the courts. One of her victories was in February 2021, when the Pretoria High Court ruled that Norma’s arrest by the Hawks was unlawful and an abuse of power. Judge Cassim Sardiwalla also ordered that all information removed from her devices be restored. Norma, who was emotional when leaving court, took to Instagram to sing the praises of her legal representatives, which include, Advocate Dali Mpofu. In March it was all joy when all the charges against her were dropped.
Representing her as she gives witness before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry is Advocate Mpati Qofa. Mgoma has revealed jaw dropping details before the commission, including the relationship her husband Malusi Gigaba had with the Guptas. She also spoke about the Guptas’ influence on appointments at state-owned enterprises. Her advocate has been hailed by many social media users, has been with her through it all. Qofa is currently the Chief Legal Officer of South African Airways.
