Statement! Family Gives An Update On Thembisa Nxumalo’s Battle With Long Covid. Long COVID is a condition where people continue to experience COVID-19 symptoms for longer than usual after initially contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus. These long-term effects may include fatigue, respiratory symptoms, and neurological symptoms.

Thembisa Nxumalo is one of those people who is currently battling Long Covid. Earlier on, the award winning media personality and actress took to Twitter to reveal that she is battling for her life in hospital. Nxumalo shared that she was at her most vulnerable, and doesn’t have the strength for anything else. She encouraged everyone to stay safe and to love their loved ones hard.

Immediately after her tweet, well wishes messages poured in for her. A lot of industry friends, peers, fans and South Africans at large wished the hospitalized Nxumalo a speedy recovery. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the Mdoda family released a statement in which they gave an update about Nxumalo’s condition. In the statement they thanked each and every person for their concern.

The family also stated that Nxumalo was diagnosed with long Covid, which was aggravated by an allergy. Fortunately for her, she was diagnosed in time, and the doctors were able to act swiftly. Although she is still hospitalized at the Sadton MediClinic but recuperating well.
