10 Things you don’t know about Tuks

1. Growing up Tuks was a very quiet person and he found himself drawn to hip hop because it’s a safe way to express myself.

2. Tuks believes what makes him unique is the fact that he  writes from the heart and that he is  driven by how I feels, by topics that really touch his soul and experiences that have the possibilities of changing his life.

3. Bona Fela was a song Tuks made to project his feelings towards the negativity he went through after his music hiatus.

4. Tuks prefers to rap in Setswana because he believes that when he raps in Setswana he gets a more immediate reaction from the people he is  rapping for. He believe that English has colonized the world and Setswana is a dying language so someone needs to keep the language alive and it’s the responsibility of artists to preserve the language.

5. The biggest challenge faced by Tuks as an entertainer is dealing with the fans who he say demand interaction and feedback which is a lot harder to manage with all his work commitment.

7. Tuks believes Piracy is necessary because for a while the recording fraternity was becoming too comfortable in the way they were marketing their music. He feels that Piracy creates a demand, hype and buzz with your song or album.

9.Tuks favourite artists are Mos Def, KRS 1 and Nas. Locally, Hugh Masekela, Brenda Fassie and Zonke

10. Tuks believes the biggest weakness most SA youth have is Ignorance mixed with arrogance, knowing it all. Drugs and Party life. The youth knows it all. Schools are also not good and teachers are not teaching well. Most young people tend to be very negative.
