Zoleka Mandela Encourages Women to Embrace their Post Pregnancy Bodies

Zoleka Mandela Encourages Women to Embrace their Post Pregnancy Bodies. There is so much pressure for women to snap back to their original bodies after they give birth. This mostly happens to women in the entertainment industry, since looks play a major role in them attracting brands.

We have seen the likes of Ayanda Thabethe, K Naomi, Zola Mhlongo and so many others looking all snatched just a few weeks after giving birth. Granted some of them have great genes, but they still have to work extra hard to get rid of the baby fat and big belly. This means on top of having a newborn who needs all your attention, and a body still recovering from the after-birth math, one also have to chase some body goals.

As much as this is the reality of the industry, one can still change the narrative and choose themselves. Zoleka Mandela, who recently gave birth to her 6th child came through for mothers with sound advice. As someone who has traveled this journey a number of times, Zoleka knows perfectly well the pressures that women go through after childbirth.

The author and activist shared a powerful quote that shows that women should celebrate the fact that they still have a body after pregnancy. Instead of succumbing to the pressure of having a great post baby body, women should be proud that their bodies no matter the size produced another human being.

“Good night, beloved Queens but before I go, tonight’s Queenly reminder, “Women may feel internal or external pressure to get their bodies back after pregnancy as though their bodies were lost. Women still have a body after pregnancy. A body that produced another human being.” – Unknown.
