Netflix Shares Kings of Joburg Season II Trailer. As we always say, when it comes to local content, we are spoiled rotten here in South Africa. Every singe month, there are a number of new TV shows, movies, soapies, dramas launching for our entertainment.

One show that many people have been looking forward to is definitely Kings of Joburg season II. About three months before his untimely passing, Shona Ferguson announced that the award winning film was returning for another season. The award winning actor and producer took to Instagram to share the news, much to the delight of fans.

The day that many have been waiting for is almost here. Come the 27th of January 2021, Kings of Joburg will be launching on Netflix. The star studded series tells the story of the Masire brothers, who rule Johannesburg’s criminal underworld. Sadly for them, a supernatural family curse threatens to destroy them.

The series which was dropped in November 2020, got nominated at the HAP Awards a year ago. Kings of Joburg battled it out under the Outstanding Drama Series in Africa category. The lead actor Ferguson was nominated at the same awards for Best Lead Lead Drama in a series. Actress Cindy Mahlangu was nominated under the Best Supporting Actress In A Series category.

As expected Kings Of Joburg put up a great fight and walked away with the awards they got nominated for. Both Ferguson and Cindy walked away with awards, and the movie series also walked away with the Outstanding Drama Series in Africa award.
