Warren Masemola Takes Us Through His Life Journey As He Clocks 40. The thing we know the most about him is his acting career. But there is more to Warren Masemola than him just being a talented entertainer.

Taking us through his life decade by decade, Masemola spoke about his upbringing, his move to Johannesburg and how his career has evolved. The award winning actor was born in GaRankwa 40 years ago. As he was growing up, Warren was diagnosed with Alopecia, a condition he still battles to date. This is a condition where you lose all or some hair on your body.

1ST DECADE
Born in my maternal grandmother’s main bedroom of a four room house and soon after taken to GaRankuwa Hospital under the Bophuthatswana government for care.

2ND DECADE
Grew up in the transitional phase of apartheid into democracy under the Transvaal government where I quickly switched from Setswana to Sepedi while experiencing Alopecia and my father & mother were building a warm home for my siblings and I, made of bricks…moving out a shack house
,” Warren opened up about his early years.

Warren then moved to Johannesburg in his 30’s, for greener pastures, just like everyone else. That is when he got to show the nation his talent as a sought after actor. He has been on some of the biggest shows in including The Republic, The River, Scandal, and most recently House of Zwide just to name a few. In 2012, Warren bagged a SAFTA for his popular role of a gay man called Thokozani “Thoko” Chanel in City Sesla.

Speaking of this period of his life Warren said, “My God and Ancestors then brought me to this city coined and titled a City Of Gold with a pot of talent where my unbeknownst passion would blossom to flourish into a career I will eternally cherish in portraying what the human is, are…a showcase.”

Now he is in the fourth floor, and he has nothing but gratitude. Not a lot of people get the chance to live their dream and be appreciated b the masses. Warren also subscribes to the notion that life begins at 40, which means there is now more to look forward to from him.
