Vacancy: Buyer’s assistant

Job Description SPREE is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team in Cape Town. The buyer’s assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the buyer to ensure the smooth running of the department and excellent maintenance of relevant categories.
Minimum Requirements • 1 to 2 years retail experience
• A relevant degree or diploma is an advantage
• In-depth knowledge or relevant fashion industry and trends
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications and packages
Skills & Competencies • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in required languages
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Able to work as part of a team
• Excellent fashion sense
• Problem-solving ability
• Planning and organising skills
• Great attention to detail
• Good excel skills
Duties & Responsibilities • Ensure accurate style sheets and purchase orders are done by deadline
• Update assortment plan and ensure information are correct
• Build good relationships with suppliers
• Be well prepared for key reviews by working through assortment plans, SWOT-documents and making sure that all samples are presentation ready in an organized fashion
• Ensure high quality admin is done daily and kept up to date
• Make sure that no admin deadlines are missed
• Maintain organization of category and ensure area is well organized
• Follow-up on e-mails and action requests where necessary
• Ensure that all paperwork are correctly filed in a neat and orderly fashion
• Reviews need to be done in a systematic and orderly fashion
• Compiling style sheets and other related information required by marketing
