“I Refuse to Raise a Man Like His Father,” Sonia Mbele on Her Son Donell. It was just a matter of time before she said her view on the issue. Sonia Mbele has been trending o most social media platforms simply because her son is an alleged woman abuser.

Donell Mbele has been accused of allegedly abusing his girlfriend and baby mama Reokeditswe Makete. The abused girlfriend, took to her Instagram stories to share receipts in the form of pictures and a video. She showed off her bruised face and even shared private messages between them where Donell allegedly admits to physically assaulting her, almost raping her and fearing he might kill her one day. Reokeditse also added that Donell logs in on her Instagram page and deletes her posts but she managed to re-post them again.

Since Donell’s mom is a public figure, she was dragged in the mess. A lot of people shifted the blame on Sonia, saying she should teach her son to treat women right. Others though, excused Sonia from her son’s deeds, more so since he is an adult responsible for his actions.

The talented actress and businesswoman has now broken her silence about abuse allegations leveled against her son, Donell. Sonia started her statement by opening up the abuse she suffered herself from the age of 17 to 26, at the hands of Donell’s father. Because of this, she stated that that is why she does not condone any form of gender based violence.

“Donell will face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its course. I refuse to raise a man like his father. Rehab, therapy and internal healing will prevail,” Sonia said.
