Inspirational! Bathu Named the Most Admired South African Brand. From the humble streets of Alexandra to being one of the most successful businessman in the country is quite inspirational. Theo Baloyi definitely deserves al the accolades, all the awards, all the praises he has been getting over the years.

Every time the Bathu founder takes to social media, it is all about announcing a new award, a new shoe brand or a new store opening. A couple of weeks ago, Theo bagged himself the Ubuntu Economic Diplomacy (AFRICA) award by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation. Shoprite, which has over 500 stores and over 20 million shoppers across the continent, also received the same award.

Over the years, he has been celebrated for what he has done with his Bathu shoes brand. Theo’s most outstanding recognition include being part of the Forbes 30under30, being announced the Businessman of the Year, bagging the Entrepreneur of the Year award three times as well as being named GQ Business Leader. A year go, he was elected as a new board member/director for the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC).

There is definitely nothing stopping Baloyi from reaching more greatness. His baby Bathu, has just been named the number 1 Most Admired South African Brand. In Africa, Bathu is ranked at position 52 in the Top 100 Most Admired Africa Brands. Coming number 2 on Most Admired South African Brands, is another shoe brand, DRIP. The brand owned by Lekau Sehoana also made in in the Top 100 Most Admired Brands in Africa, coming at position 65.
