The DJ’s words come amidst reports of tension and violent clashes between police and protesters across the nation over the last two weeks.

He described his pain at watching police “assault” students and urged the nation to “get involved”.

But isn’t Black Coffee being a hypocrite? Does he practice what he preaches?

Last week, a video of DJ Black Coffee slapping AKA’s road manager Tshiamo Letshwene during DSTV’s I Rock Music Festival in Polokwane during the early hours of Sunday morning went viral.

However, a statement was released by Soulistic Music which stated that Black Coffee “regrets” the incident and “sincerely apologises to Tshiamo”. The statement went on to add that Black Coffee “regrets” reacting in the manner that he did.

Perhaps he has learnt from his mistakes and people do change right?
