Ray Phiri Asks To Be Given Privacy During His Trying Time

Veteran musician Ray Phiri, who has been diagnosed with  lung cancer, has asked the public and media to give him space so that he deals with his situation in private. It’s not an easy thing for a public figure to completely keep stuff for himself, but in this case Ray has allegedly pleaded to have his privacy respected now that he is not in good health.

Ray’s condition was revealed recently when a crowdfunding page was set up to help Ray with his medical bill. However‚ the page was shut down‚ apparently at the request of the family. Phiri has exhausted all his private funds, including medical aid funds, and is in need of funding, according to one of his band mates. The public and some celebrities were forth coming in trying to help the singer where they can, but Ray has since asked to suffer in peace and with dignity.

He is currently in the Nelspruit Mediclinic suffering from lung cancer, and is saying his situation is under control. Ray Phiri is part of the internationally acclaimed group, Stimela, of which he is lead vocalist and guitarist. Prayers be with the legend and his family
