“I Get Called Ntsiki At Least Twice a Day,” Thandiswa Mazwai

“I Get Called Ntsiki At Least Twice a Day,” Thandiswa Mazwai. For the longest time the two sisters have been pitted against each other. Some people even assume there is bad blood between the siblings. Well, this is mainly because Thandiswa and Ntsiki Mazwai are in the same industry.

Of the two sisters, Ntsiki is the most vocal. Quite often, the poet, artist and media personality takes to Twitter to share her unpopular opinions. Ntsiki has taken on a number of A-list celebrities as well as leaders, without any fear. On the other hand, her big sister Thandiswa is a sweetheart. She mostly shares content about her music and her daughter on Twitter. It goes without saying that many love Thandiswa, whereas her sister constantly gets bashed online.

Having noted all of that though, the Mazwai sisters have nothing but love for each other. There became even more closer to each other, when their mom, Belede Mazwai passed away 30 years ago. As the older sibling, Thandiswa had a bigger role of helping to raise her younger siblings. Although she was 16 at the time, the multi-award winning singer had to grow up fast and fend for her siblings.

For some reason, the two sisters are also confused for each other. Thandiswa and Ntsiki don’t even look alike that way, but quite a number of times they get mistaken for each other. According to Thandiswa, she gets called Ntsiki, and sometimes gets attacked for the content her younger sister shared online.

I get called Ntsiki at least twice a day. Everyday. Some of them say “ya I read the letter you wrote to the president” or they say “u are so rude,” Thandiswa said.
