Alostro is very well known on social media for his commentary on trending issues. Just like Bonga, he says his opinion after which he gets some money to get by for the day. For years, people go to Bloed Street Mall looking for Alostro to get his commentary. Almost everything he has been saying about topical issues such as the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial and the assassination of musicians like AKA, DJ Sumbody and Vusi Ma R5 has been trending on social media.
He claimed to have given Vusi Ma R5 his stage name. He said Vusi said to him that he smoked expensive cigarettes, but every day he gave him a R5. That was when he said, from now on you will now be known as Ma R5. He also said Kelly Khumalo is involved in Meyiwa’s killing, and that DJ Sumbody is responsible for his death.
Well, there is someone though, who sees Alostro, as more that just a street comedian. DJ Karri is a musician from Pretoria, has taken it upon himself to help Alostro. He took him shopping, cleaned him up, and had his hair shaved. Karri then asked for tweeps to help him identify Alostro’s family so he goes for rehab. Guess what, the man is on his way to a rehabilitation centre.
