Tweeps Weigh In On Simphiwe Ngema’s Statement About Visiting Thabo Bester In Jail. Many think she should just have kept quite and kept it moving. Why Simphiwe Ngema felt propelled to share that she once visited Thabo Bester while he was in prison a couple of years back, has left social media abuzz with speculations.

While in prison for rape and murder charges, Bester did quite a lot of shocking things. On one occasion, he appeared at a glamorous Johannesburg event on 13 June 2018 via video conference. At the time he was chilling in prison pretending to be in New York. The event attendees sang a happy birthday song to him, not aware that he was in his prison cell. Among those who were at the event include high profile personalities such as, Yvonne Chakachaka and Amanda duPont.

His partner and co-accused, Dr Nandipha Magudumana, has also been linked with numerous well-known public figures. She was a darling to the likes of Redi Tlhabi and Arthur Mafokate. The medical doctor an businesswoman also has pictures on social media posing with the likes of Zozibini Tunzi, Terry Pheto, Jessica Nkosi and Moshe Ndiki among others.

Now, there is another celebrity in the mix, Simphiwe. This morning, the talented actress issued a statement saying she went to the prison where the Facebook rapist and murderer was jailed back in 2018. According to Simphiwe, this wasn’t a courtesy visit though, as she went there to demand for her money for the gigs she was not paid for.

In the since deleted statement, Simphiwe revealed that she was never paid for some of the events she was booked for by 21st Century.

In 2018 I went to the prison to demand answers, it was a difficult time in my life and he owed me money.”I’ve been open about everything to those that have been investigating and I have nothing to hide. I am not the person that went there on a regular basis nor was I the last person to visit before his escape.

“I never went on regular basis, nor was I last person to visit before he escaped,” Simphiwe said.
