Applications Open for the Trevor Noah Foundation Finance and Operations Internship Programme 2024. The Trevor Noah Foundation (TNF) seeks to empower disadvantaged African communities by enhancing education access and opportunities for youth aged 5-35.

Job Purpose:

The Finance and Operations Intern, reporting to the Finance and Operations Coordinator, will collaborate across departments to support strategic goals. The role encompasses finance, programmatic, operational, and administrative responsibilities, ensuring efficient operations and timely support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement:
    • Coordinate with departments to fulfill procurement needs efficiently.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records, process purchase orders, and handle supplier communications.
    • Arrange travel and event logistics in coordination with various departments.
  2. Financial Management:
    • Process data entry and payments accurately.
    • Compile and organize finance documents, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
    • Assist in documenting financial records and tracking program expenditure.
    • Administer donations, communicating with relevant donors.
  3. Human Resources Support:
    • Assist in HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and drafting HR-related communications.
    • Support in maintaining employee files and records.
    • Respond to employee inquiries and concerns.
  4. General Responsibilities:
    • Provide administrative support in collaboration with the Communications and Programmes Intern.
    • Ensure compliance with finance and operational guidelines and policies.

Requirements:

  • Education: Certificate, Diploma, or pursuing a degree in Finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum six months related experience is advantageous.
  • Skills: Analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and attention to detail.
  • Language: Fluency in English and at least one African language.
  • Computer Proficiency: Especially in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Passion: Demonstrated passion for education, youth, or community development sectors.

Additional Requirements:

  • Clear credit history and no criminal convictions.
  • Provide four contactable references.
  • Submit comprehensive CV and certificates for secondary and tertiary qualifications/courses.
  • Consent for background checks will be requested.
