Sureshnie Rieder Bids Farewell To 5FM After 18 Years

Sureshnie Rieder Bids Farewell To 5FM After 18 Years. Over the past few weeks we have experienced a lot of changes in radio stations across the country. A number of radio broadcasters have sadly bid farewell to their shows, and on the other hand, new talent has been introduced. Radio stations like Metro FM, YFM, 5FM, POWER FM and 947 have made major changes to their lineup.

Speaking of farewells, the latest personality to announce her departure from radio is Sureshnie Rieder. The talented 5FM radio host has been with the radio station for 18 years, and today (Wednesday 31st 2021) is her last day. Sureshnie feels honored and privileged to have been part of 5FM, and is also grateful for those who made her journey beautiful. During her 18 years at 5FM Sureshnie hosted across the platform as a presenter and also a newsreader.

ONE last time…Thank you so much. It’s been an honour and a privilege. Thank YOU for being part of this blessed journey. You made the past 18 years for me @5fm the most beautiful. I choose LOVE always, and I send that to you too xxx,” Sureshnie said.

As a 5 year old little girl, Sureshnie dreamt of working in radio, and most especially at 5fm. As a kid, she always wanted to one day host the World Chart Show and, it came true with her getting to host the 5FM Top40. Because of talent, hard work and perseverance, her dreams came true, and she has been in the broadcasting industry for a good 23 years. Sureshnie studied this craft at ML Sultan technikon, then made her way to Durban Youth Radio, P4 Radio (now Gagasi fm), Lotusfm until joining 5fm. She worked every shift and grasped at every and any opportunity to learn and immerse herself in the broadcast world.

Although she is leaving 5FM, is definitely not leaving radio. Sureshnie is moving on to new chapters within the media space. She will be launching her long-awaited podcast and I’m calling it Live Learn Love. We definitely can’t wait for this project.
