The likes of Thembi Seete, Janet Jackson and Naomi Campbell welcomed their first bundles of joy when they were in their 40s and 50s.
Another local celebrity has just proven that it is never too late to be a parent. A couple of days ago, US based actress Bubu Mazibuko, shared the news on her Instagram that she is expecting her very first bundle of joy. Bubu is 47 years old, an age where most women now are welcoming grandchildren, depending on how old they were when they had their kids.
For many women like Bubu, having a first child at this age can only be a miracle. This is because of the fertility struggles they went through in the past years. Although Bubu didn’t reveal much, she stated that now that finally she is expecting a baby, she is living what feels like a dream. Bibu also said one day she will detail all the hardship they went through to be here.
For now though, Bubu is grateful that she is going to be a mother to someone. She shared a video of herself and her partner standing by the ocean, showing off her pregnant belly.
The beautiful video was captioned, “What a long and intense journey! But here we finally are! Living in what feels like a dream and definitely a miracle. I was going to detail the hardships of this journey for us, and I probably will write about it one day, but today all I want to express is gratitude.
Thank you to everyone who held our hands through this long process. Family, friends and particularly our fertility doctors. Thank you. This has to be one of the happiest times of my life.

As expected the talented actress’ revelation was received with different views. Most are happy for her, and wishing her well on this journey. On the other hand, there are those who are projecting their own insecurities on Bubu.
