10 Ways To A Healthy Lifestyle

10 Ways To A Healthy Lifestyle. Everyone aspires to be 100% healthy. But because of lack of some resources, time and commitment, our well being gets compromised. The following tips will help you cultivate qualities for a healthier lifestyle despite setbacks.

1. Think Positive

A healthy positive attitude helps build a healthier immune system and boosts overall health. Your body believes what you think, so focus on the positive. You also have to practice being grateful. Gratitude even to simple things will make you content and more happier.

2. Keep Good Company

You can do all the right things, but if you have personal relationships with people who have unhealthy habits, it is often an uphill battle. The healthiest people are those who have relationships with other healthy people. Get your family or friends involved with you when you walk or plan healthier meals. Making healthy changes with a loved one can bring you closer together as well as motivate you.

3. Eat Your Vegetables

Shoot for five servings of vegetables a day, raw, steamed, or stir-fried. A diet high in vegetables is associated with a reduced risk of developing cancers of the lung, colon, breast, cervix, esophagus, stomach, bladder, pancreas, and ovaries. And many of the most powerful phytonutrients are the ones with the boldest colors such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, grapes, and leafy greens.

4. Eat Fruits

Fruits have a load of vitamins and minerals. Oranges offer more health benefits than Vitamin C pills. Satisfy your palate with these nutritious fruits: Watermelon, Apricots, Avocado, Apple, Cantaloupe, Grapefruit, Kiwi, Guava, Papaya, Strawberries. If you intend to consume a lot of fruits at one go, consume fruit with some fats, such as a dressing, almond butter, olive oil, or avocado to reduce the glycemic load

5. Drink More Water

Most of us don’t drink enough water every day. Water is essential for our bodies to function. Do you know over 60% of our body is made up of water? Water is needed to carry out body functions, remove waste, and carry nutrients and oxygen around our body. Since we lose water daily through urine, bowel movements, perspiration, and breathing, we need to replenish our water intake.

6. Quit Smoking

There is nothing more damaging to a long, healthy life than smoking, which is estimated as the reason for death or disability in half the people who smoke. The dangers of smoking tobacco are so significant that it is the most important public health problem in the world, which ironically, is largely avoidable. Smoking not only cuts your lifespan by affecting your internal organs, but it also ages you on the outside by causing skin damage.

7. Exercise Daily

Daily exercise can reduce all of the biomarkers of aging. This includes improving eyesight, normalizing blood pressure, improving lean muscle, lowering cholesterol, and improving bone density. If you want to live well and live longer, you must exercise! Even ten minutes of exercise makes a difference, so do something. Crank the stereo and dance in your living room. Walk to the park with your kids or a neighbor you’d like to catch up with. Jump rope. Spin a hula hoop. Play water volleyball. Bike to work. Jump on a trampoline. Go for a hike.

8. Get A Good Night’s Sleep

If you have trouble sleeping, try relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga. Or eat a small bedtime snack of foods shown to help shift the body and mind into sleep mode: whole grain cereal with milk, oatmeal, cherries, or chamomile tea. Darken your room more and turn your clock away from you. Write down worries or stressful thoughts to get them out of your head and onto the page. This will help you put them into perspective so you can quit worrying about them.

9. Get Out More Often

If you have a 9-5 job, chances are you spend much of your time holed up in the office and not a lot of time going out and having fun. During weekends, you’re probably busy with work or running errands. Make a point to go out with your friends at least once a week. Get some sun. Go out and have a change of environment. It’ll be great for your body and soul.

10. Love Yourself

This will give you all the more reasons to follow the nine tips above. Self love will motivate you to get up and take care of yourself. Loving yourself will also make you have a positive outlook about yourself. You worry less, are not too hard on yourself and are happy most of the time.
