The Fashion Industry Mourns Lebohang Quiteria Kekana. Cancer remains one of the most ruthless diseases out there which has robbed many of their loved ones. A number of our celebrities have succumbed to cancer over the years, among them Naledi Willers who lost her battle to the disease in December 2021.
We have yet lost another personality, Lebohang Quiteria Kekana to cancer. The top fashion designer who is behind Quiteria Atelier, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma at the beginning of 2021. This is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Quiteria opened up about his health condition in August 2021, and also revealed that he was undergoing chemotherapy. He took a break and has been receiving help from his mother back home in Soweto.
Sadly the 38-year-old lost his battle to cancer this past Sunday (17 April 2022). According to a family statement, Quiteria died at his home in Melville, Johannesburg. He is survived by his son, his parents, siblings as well as his puppy. As the family is yet to release funeral arrangements, they have asked for privacy to process their grief.
His passing hasn’t affected his family only, it is a major blow to the fashion industry in the country. Through his label, Quiteria has dressed stars like Beyonce Knowles, Enhle Mbali, Eva Modika, Ami Faku, Katlego Danke and Zola Nombona to mention just a few.
