Unathi Bags a Cool Award Hosting Gig. When it comes to award ceremonies, one of the thing people always look forward to is the red carpet. We all want to know who wore what. Hence why those who attend any kinds of awards make sure they dress their best so that the make it on the best dressed list as opposed to worst dressed.
When it comes to the GQ Best Dressed Awards, these ones are specifically about fashion. For more than 16 years, these awards celebrate South Africa’s most distinctive best dressers. Individuals who use fashion to express themselves, whether it’s formal, casual or street style, and know how to be creative using garments are honored. In 2021, we saw the likes of Rich Mnisi, Thapelo Mokoena, DJ LeSoul, Teboho Caddy Tsotetsi and other personalities become winners of GQ Best Dressed.
The awards are back again this year, and more fashionistas are going to be honored. For the first time in the history of GQ Best Dressed, this years’ awards will have 11 categories, including GQ Best Dressed Reader, voted by the public. GQ has just announced their host for the event and we are excited for her. Unathi, who is also a fashionista of note will be the one holding it down on the day.
“Undoubtedly one of South Africa and Africa’s most loved and renowned broadcaster, singer-songwriter and businesswoman, whose been in the game for decades. This year she joins us on the GQ Best Dressed as our host. GQ peeps, please give it up for @unathi.co,” GQ announced.
The event will take place 27 August.
