It’s Another Commonwealth Gold Medal For Caster Semenya

It’s Another Commonwealth Gold Medal For Caster Semenya. Our golden girl does it again. She’s won the women’s 800m in a Commonwealth Games record time of 1:56.68 to win her second gold medal at Gold Coast 2018.

Caster Semenya won her first gold medal of the Games in the Women’s 1,500m race on Tuesday. She broke the 1984 SA 1500m national record set by Zola Budd, clocking 4.00.71 at the Commonwealth Games. Zola’s record was 4.01.81.

The medalist dedicated her golden double at the Commonwealth Games to the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela‚ saying she and her late ex-husband Nelson Mandela had ignited a fire inside her.
