Twitter Divided On Who Should Play Brenda Fassie On Upcoming Biopic. There is a new film in the works about the colorful life of the late legend Brenda Fassie. Already an open casting call has been set in search for that talented local to play Brenda. With a lot of talent in the country many are already campaigning for their favorites to get the part.

Leading the pack are two South African talented actresses, Brenda Ngxoli known for her role in television drama Home Afairs and Soso Runqu who is known for her part as Morongwa in Muvhango. Manaka Ranaka who plays Lucy Diale in Generations is also a close contender.

UK-based film and television production company Showbizbee has acquired the rights in conjunction with the Brenda Fassie estate and Legaci Nova to film the story of the vivacious late singer. Bongani Fassie who is Brenda’s son will be the co-Executive Producer. It’s expected to start production soon and hit cinemas in 2019
