2012’s Coolest Brands Chosen By Youth
More than 5000 young South Africans aged between 8 and 22 were surveyed, giving their opinion on who and what they found the coolest of them all, from toothpaste (Aquafresh) to ultra luxury cars (Lamborghini). 2012’s Coolest Brand Overall in the Sunday Times Generation Next Brand Survey
Winners in more than one category included Nike, BMW, comedian Trevor Noah and DSTV’s Trace Channel. Facebook, according to those surveyed, is still the coolest social network, garnering 28.08% of the votes, while Twitter languished in fifth place with only 6.79% of the votes behind Mxit, Google + and WhatsApp.
