10 Things You Didn’t Know About Rhythm City Actor Mzamo Gcabashe

Mzamo Gcabashe best known for being a contestant on the third season of the Mzansi Magic reality competition television series Big Brother Mzansi, in 2014. When Mzamo Gcabashe burst onto our screens as the intriguing Big Brother Mzansi contestant in 2014, he had a very clear plan to use as a platform to launch his career as an entertainer.

Here are ten things you probably didn’t know about the talented actor, musician and fashion entrepreneur:

1. Mzamo did drama at school, but he doesn’t have a qualification for it. When he arrived in Joburg, he took private classes to advance his acting skills and everything he knew from drama school.

2. He was on Big Brother Mzansi and when that ended he heard about the role on Rhythm City.

3. Gcabashe’s dream came true when the CEO of Native Rhythms, Sipho Sithole, heard him singing on Big Brother. The minute Gcabashe was evicted from the house he was offered a recording deal with the company

4. Of people who motivate him, television presenter Bonang Matheba is top of his list.

5. Describing himself as ambitious, a realist, strategic, optimistic and industrious, he says he’s always happy though laziness and simple mindedness do upset him.

6. he enjoys TV and his favourite series is Gossip Girl.

7. Singer Madonna is his role model but he also likes Beyoncé, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera. His favourite songs are Mariah’s Make It Happen and Rihanna’s Mother Mary.

8. His best books are 48 Laws of Power, The Da Vinci Code plus the Harry Potter series and his top movies include Pretty Woman, The Social Network and Avatar.

9. He says Big Brother is honestly the ONLY show that he believe works for all my talents. It was the biggest opportunity ever for his ambitions.

10. Having lived in Joburg for over a year, Durban-born Mzamo (27), who considers himself a small fashion entrepreneur, says he’s proud of finding his niche in JHB.
