Here is Why South Africans Are Angry at Meghan Markle. It is always cool when an internationally recognized personality has nothing but great things to say about the country. In fact, quite a number of international celebs are always gushing over South Africa after their visits.

One iconic international visit we will never forget was in 2019, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came to SA. The American-born member of the British royal family and former actress together with her husband Prince Harry and their son were treated like royalty during their stay. The Duchess of Sussex made a private visit to Victoria Yards and popped into Tshepo Mohlala’s store to collect a denim outfit for her son.

One of the visits that the couple made was at a women and children’s centre in Nyanga township, Cape Town. Sadly something unpleasant happened there, and Meghan shared it on the launch of her podcast. She opens up about a terrifying ordeal that saw a fire break out in the nursery where Archie was staying.

“When we went on our tour to South Africa, we landed with Archie. Archie was what, four and a half months old. And the moment we landed, we had to drop him off at this housing unit that they had had us staying in……We finished the engagement, we get in the car and they say: there’s been a fire at the residence,” Meghan said.

There are also allegations that she had to wear cheap clothing and took off her ring because of the high rate of crime in the area. All of this has not sat well with South Africans who never wants to see her back in the country again.
