South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards have just released a full list of their nominees. The much anticipated list boast the best of the best in the industry. The awards aim at bringing together of various ethnic and racial groups through the celebration of our diverse musical heritage as we combat tribalism and all the other divisive measures.
The 2017 SATMA Awards will honor legends of traditional music. The 2016’s big winners included Jessica Mbangeni and Zodwa Mabena. The awards ceremony is to be held at the end of September. It’s an opportunity to showcase talent, culture and tradition.
The annual parade has been held in Durban where thousands came from across the country for the annual SATMA parade. Well done to all nominees of 2017. Check out the full list below:
