Sannah Mchunu Grateful for Her Latest Acting Role. We can’t think of any role she hasn’t played. Sannah Mchunu has slayed them all from being a rich wife, a housekeeper, a sugar mommy, an irresponsible drunkard, you name it.

The multi-award wining legendry actress is best known for roles in television series such as eKasi: Our Stories, Muvhango and The River. In 2020, Sana appeared in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora as Zodwa, where her role received critical acclaim. She is back with yet another role. Sannah has joined the interesting cast of new Showmax series, Youngins. The series, is set at a fictional boarding school named Olifantsfontein High.  Sana plays Matron Lulu, and by the look of things, it’s a character to look forward to.

Other cast members include Kea Masango as Buhle, an absolute firebrand and the “it” girl at school. There is also Ntunja, as Amo, Thabile Tau as Sefako, Amo Telekelo as Palesa, Tshepo Matlala as Tshepo, Lihle Ngubo as Zinhle, and Katlego Moloke as Alex. SAFTA winner Loyiso MacDonald plays Principal Mthembu, and Keneilwe Matidze (Petronella on Reyka) plays Pearl “Miss SA” Buthelezi.

Youngins premieres on Showmax from 12 February 2024, with three new episodes streaming every Thursday onwards.

Sannah started off the year on a very positive note. She was one of the winners at the recently launched Briefly News Entertainment Awards. Sannah bagged herself an Actress of the Year Award.

Other winners include Khosi Twala, as the Most Fashionable Celebrity. Actor of the Year award went to Wiseman Mncube. Best New Artist of the Year award went to Tyla Laura Seethal. Another singer Naledi Aphiwe Myongwane got the Top Influencer of the Year. Rapper Nasty C, was announced the Hip Hop Artist of the Year.
