Uber Launches A Security Feature Which Prompts Drivers To Take Selfies Before Accepting A Ride

You cannot think much of selfies, but guess what? Uber seem to think otherwise. It has been reported that Uber has now introduced a security feature which forces drivers to take selfies before they can even go online. It has essentially introduced this app to make sure that you get the correct driver.

The security system is called Real-Time ID Check. Not only is it used for security, but it also helps to prevent fraud in the driver’s account and preventing any unwanted access. So basically what will happen is that before drivers can accept a ride, they need to take selfies first. It’s really getting real fam.

It has been revealed that if the driver takes a selfie and it doesn’t match with the given profile, the account will be blocked with immediate effect and the Uber team will be notified of such matter. The security system will even detect or rather decide whether the selfie is okay or not. This goes without saying that Uber really put its people’s safety first.
