Cassper Nyovest surprised his fans on last week Saturday at the MAMAs when he broke the norm and released his signature ponytail. He performed and took home one award at the MTV Awards at the Dome, but it was his hair that truly stole the show. Instead of his signature ponytail, the rapper had a whole new look.

South Africa’s Hip Hop artist, Cassper Nyovest, decided to ditch his ponytail trademark saying it is time for him “to boss up and do the suit more” to show that he is growing up.

Cassper debuted his new look on the MTV MAMAs red carpet on Saturday night at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.

Dressed in a slick black and white tuxedo — Mr Doc Shebeleza looked smoking-hot.

Speaking on the red carpet about ditching his ponytail which has been a huge part of his brand for years‚ Cassper said that it’s part of his ‘new image’.
