Here are the categories
Best Event After Movie
This category can be entered by the production team, or the event owners. It doesn’t matter who submits the entry, as long as each piece is only entered once.
Thumb Stopping
This award is for a piece of content that’s just so good you had to stop scrolling. Did you create something so great that it went viral? It even surprised you how well it went down? You had huge engagement and tons of shares? Well then, this category is for you!
Song of the Year
For the most impactful song from the last year, that had an official release (either through a label or a Digital Service Provider). It had a cross-over moment into pop culture and must have been used a number of times in content.
Storyteller
The Storyteller Award recognizes outstanding video content (documentary, series, short film) that delves deep into a subject, exploration, captivates and educates viewers with storytelling prowess.
Podcast of the Year
Do you own/run/contribute to a podcast platform that produces exceptional content? Do you get the likes, shares, comments and subscribers? Is everyone begging for more, spamming your DMs with suggestions on who or what to feature next?
Best Creator Campaign
This category celebrates innovative and effective collaborations between brands and creators that result in impactful and authentic content that resonates with the target audience.
Beauty
Do you consistently create exceptional content that your fans consume eagerly? Whether it’s skincare routines, glam tutorials, transformations etc. If it can be classified as something to do with beauty, we will take it!
Gaming Creator of the Year
The category honors an outstanding individual in the gaming industry who has demonstrated exceptional talent, creativity, influence, and dedication in creating gaming content that resonates with audiences and contributes to the gaming community as a whole.
Travel & Lifestyle
Do you consistently create exceptional content that your fans consume eagerly? Whether it’s travel storytelling, hotel reviews, digital nomad lifestyles, travel guides, adventure trips, etc. If it’s travel or lifestyle-based, we will accept it.
Foodie
Do you consistently create exceptional content that your fans consume eagerly? Whether it’s recipes, cooking, baking, food styling, plating, etc. If it can be classified as something to do with food, we will take it.
Fashion & Style
Do you consistently create exceptional content that your fans consume eagerly? Whether it’s looks, outfits, clothing, style, accessories, etc. If it can be classified as fashion and streetstyle, we’ll take it!
Trendsetter
This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional influence in their respective niches or industries through their authentic voice, engaging content, and ability to connect with and inspire their audience.
Pan-African Creator
This category is for the African continent, celebrating talent in countries outside of South Africa.
Cause
This category celebrates creators who promote a cause, do-good initiatives or shine a light on a specific plight. It could be pro-bono, or perhaps at a lesser fee, because you believe in the cause or this mission, or you’re an activist, and you want to do your bit to help amplify the message.
Emerging Creator
It’s for content creators who only started producing and posting content recently, from January 2022 onwards. It doesn’t matter how many followers you have, if you’re new to the game, love doing this, have found your niche and are eager to expand and become a recognized name within content creation, then this category is for you!
DStv Creator of the Year
Shortlisted by the judges and voted for by the public. You cannot enter this category; the top five highest scored entries in the ‘Content Creator’ categories will automatically become the five nominees.
Social Commentary
This category is for creators who post their views on what’s happening in the cultural zeitgeist. They comment on current affairs or share their point of view on social issues.
