Caster Semenya Opens Up About Her Wife Violet And How She Met Her

Last year 2015, Caster Semenya said “I Do” to longtime girlfriend Violet Ledile Raseboya. The two tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony in their home province of Limpopo. In an interview with the Sunday Times earlier this year, Caster spoke about her and fellow runner Raseboya tying the knot. The pair said their ‘I do’s’ in a stunning traditional ceremony in their home province, Limpopo.

“I just got married a few months ago. With the support I get from my training partners, my wife, coach, fellow South Africans and the support system at the university, there’s no way you can’t be happy”, Caster said.

“Last year, when I told her I was ready to send my family to hers, she was happy, excited, she could not wait.We’ve been good friends. Relationships are all about a good friendship,” she said.Semenya paid lobola for her partner last year, and they officially began their lives as marital partners.

Semenya and Raseboya have known one another since they were teenagers, and while Semenya was in Rio, her wife was rooting her on via Instagram.
