Job description

We are searching for an individual with at least five years of television writing and production experience to be the key person responsible for an Afrikaans music video chart show.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Pre-Production:

• Researching and writing the scripts and checking for errors or omissions
• Checking the weekly voting and compiling the list.
• Booking of guests on the show
• Contacting agents weekly for new releases
• Gathering of music videos to meet deadlines for content delivery
• Making sure the right music videos are played out and for what length
• Booking studio facilities and technical crew
• Preparing scripts for shooting (format, print && distribution)
• Drafting and distribution of the call sheet
• Wardrobe continuity (episodic)
• Creating Scripts for the insert shoots
• Give creative guidance to insert camera crew

Production:

• Run the show with the TD
• Mark Aux script for editors notes
• Manage production crew, catering requirements etc.
• Welcome guests and make sure they feel at home
• Make sure the recording runs as per schedule and doesn’t go over time
• Signing release forms with guests

Post-production:

• Managing editor workflow to ensure timeous delivery of through off and on line
• Editing the interviews
• Making sure that all the Social Media requirements are met weekly. Liaising with the social team on a weekly basis.
• Creating Promos and other publicity deliverables
• Making sure audio receives all material and manage delivery schedule
• Liaise with the Commissioning Editor
• Create FCC and MCC sheets
• Final Edits and content guidance for whatever is shot at that insert with the editor.
• Sending out channel info and program info to all the relevant parties.
• Final viewing before audio, final viewing after audio.

General:

• Dealing with any unforeseen circumstances and managing stakeholder expectations
• Forecasting, managing && reporting expenses
• Keeping production files updated on a weekly basis

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary degree
• Five years’ television production experience
• Impeccable knowledge of the Afrikaans music industry
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
• Excellent Afrikaans & English language skills
• Thorough understanding of MS Office
• An eye for detail and a passion for Afrikaans music

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Premier Pro
