Cornet Mamabolo Slams Uptight And Snobbish Celebrities

Don’t ever expect actor Cornet Mamabolo to bite the hand that feeds him because he can’t stand superiority complexes within the entertainment industry. The Skeem Saam actor says a lot of  celebrities in South Africa act snobbish, calls it  nonsense. Mamabolo took to his Insta this morning with a lengthy post describing celebrities who lose themselves through building a brand.

He wrote:

“Ok so I’m concerned! People often say ” I’ve worked hard for my brand to be where it is now. I can’t compromise it like that” then others say “My brand does not allow me to do that or it even goes to a point where they say “I can’t post that or post about that, I’ve worked for years to just show the world how I was”
You know what’s sad about all this nonsense? It’s because it leads others to be ashamed of their own family/friends. For petty reasons like they can’t dress well, they do not have “elite” accent (if there is such). It goes to a point where they can’t go to their friend’s ceremonies because “it does not speak to their brand” MATSHILA FELA.”

“It’s sad because this “brand” thing lead them to change their true identity. Yes identity is fluid, it is forever developing but is it really worth it to change how you speak, dress, or even cut some bonds in your family because of a “brand” ? Then suddenly motho ore yena he/she can’t spent more than 2 days at home or where he/she comes from because it will make his/her brand too accessible. I mean really now ? So people have converted into walking products now? They can’t be sold or seen at some places with some people? If this “brand” thing is gonna get us to do such crazy things then may we redefine it please. ?just saying.”
