Salesian Life Choices is a Cape Town based social enterprise that invests in youth. We are building a team of leaders who are passionate about Life Choices vision and mission. This is a great opportunity for driven individuals to become part of a ‘Bold Movement Investing in Youth to Tackle Inequality.’

We are looking for a talented candidate to head up the internal Visual Communications department for the organisation, reporting directly to the managing director.

As well as being responsible for the organisations core brand identity, you will also have responsibility for four distinct programme sub-brands (Leaders Quest; Health for Life; Family Affairs and New Ventures Studio).

Further, the successful candidate will be involved in assisting participants in our young entrepreneur accelerator – New Ventures Studio (www.newventuresstudio.co.za) – with conceptualising and building exciting brand identities for business start-ups.

Responsibilities:

• Layout and design (print ready as necessary) of:
  • Banners / POS;
  • Brochures, business profiles, promotional material;
  • Reports;
  • Infographics;
  • Publications;
  • Presentations;
  • Social media content;
  • Newsletters;
  • Websites.
• Develop brand identity for start-ups;
• Generating content (words, images and rich media) and managing Life Choices’ social media feeds and other digital platforms.

Requirements

• Proficiency in various software applications including but not limited to the Adobe Creative, InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop;
• Basic understanding of website content management systems (WordPress, Drupal);
• Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Three to five years’ relevant work experience;
• A willingness to learn new skills (on the job training will be provided);
• Strong writing skills;
• Flexible and adaptable;
• High energy and passion for Life Choices’ mission is essential;
• Strong organisational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail;
• A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
