10 Things You Didn’t Know About Scandal Actress Thuso Mbedu

Thuso Mbedu popularly known for her character “Kitso Medupe” on Scandal is a rising star. The sky’s the limit for the 23-year-old and Mbedu’s reaching for the stars. There’s no doubt that this young star will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

Here are 10 facts you should know about the beautiful and talented Kitso Mbedu :

1.Thuso previously portrayed the character of Boni Khumalo on Mzansi Magic’s Saints and Sinners.

2. Thuso Mbedu attended school in Pietermaritzburg in her home province of KwaZulu-Natal.

3. Thuso Mbedu earned a University Entrance Scholarship to attend the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University). In 2010 she enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand  to study a Dramatic Arts.

4. She earned numerous honours while at University of the Witwatersrand including the E J A Loerincz Scholarship (2011), Golden Key International Honours Society Membership (2012), University Council Merit Scholarship (2012) and New York University Summer Programme Scholarship also in 2012.

5. During her university years she took part in a number of productions at the Wits Theatre fulfilling various roles including; Stage Crew member, Stage Manager, Performer, Assistant Director and Choreographer.

6. In 2012 Thuso Mbedu attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, New York in the United States of America

7. In October 2014 she appeared on Mzansi Magic’s telenovela turned soap opera, IsiBaya, as Nosisa.

8. Her portrayal of Kitso Medupe arguably brought to a far greater audience and dramatically raised her public profile as her previous roles have all been on pay TV.

9. In March 2015 she portrayed the character of Khethi on SABC 2’s youth drama series, Snake Park 2.

10. Thuso also did a modelling course in 2008 that included ramp modelling but had to stop in the year 2009 after chosing to focus on her studies.
