10 Things You Don’t Know About Ntandoyenkosi Kunene

Ntandoyenkosi Kunene was crowned Miss South Africa at a glitzy ceremony held at Carnival City in Johannesburg on Saturday night. Making her the 58th Miss South Africa. 23-year-old Ntando was radiant as the exquisite tiara was placed on her head, signalling the start of her reign as Miss South Africa.

Here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about the Mpumalanga-born beauty

 

1.She is a qualified teacher and recently finished her honours in Curriculum issues from Wits.

2. In her spare time, Ntandoyenkosi engages with young girls on the importance of education in South Africa.

3. In 2012, Kunene was crowned Miss Mamelodi Sundowns Gauteng , and walked away with R70 000.

4. Her message to girls and young women: “Most women succeed against all odds. I say start writing your own story.”

5. Ntando was born 1993, in Mkhonto, Mpumalanga.

6. She was a finals of Miss Earth South Africa 2012.

7. Ntando started modelling from the age of four, winning her first title as Miss Raindrop during a local festival held back home. By the time she was six, she knew that this would be something that would be an integral part of her life.

8. In fact when she was young, her mother enrolled her at a modelling school at the age of 11 to help groom her and achieve her reality of today.

9. Since I turned 18,  I started sending in my applications for Miss SA and I was never chosen…then in 2014 I made it through to the Top 33.

10. When she’s on her own, her secret pleasure is singing. One of her best things to do is spending alone time.  She enjoys her own company
