Thandiswa Mazwai on Why She Doesn’t Do Interviews

Thandiswa Mazwai on Why She Doesn’t Do Interviews. One way to get to know our celebrities better, is when they do interviews. They reveal a lot in terms of current projects, upcoming projects, their dreams, as well as a bit on their private life.

As they advance in their careers though, some celebrities avoid the concept of doing interviews altogether. Being interviewed by the press might seem like just one of the many trappings of being famous. A number of our local personalities who have been on shows like Podcast and Chill With MacG, almost got cancelled for all the revelations they made.

Luckily for some of our celebrities, they are so popular that they can avoid being interviewed and still remain relevant. The likes of Bonang Matheba, rarely do interviews nowadays, but are still respected in the industry.

One celebrity who isn’t a fan of interviews is Thandiswa Mazwai. She has been in the industry for decades, but always manages to be as private as possible. It was only recently that the multi-award winning songstress was interviewed by her sister Ntsiki Mazwai on her podcast, Unpopular Opinion.

A couple of days ago, Thandiswa was also a guest on DJ Sbu’s podcast, Hustlers Corner. She was interviewed by veteran media personality, Rudeboy Paul. A lot of issues were touched among them her life story, her music career, touring the world, the people she lost as well as some international stars.

It is not clear what really happened after that, because Thandiswa has now vowed to never do interviews. In a series of since deleted tweets, she stated that she stopped doing interviews years ago, and only came back because of her Tastic Rice gig. Tagging Rudeboy, Thandiswa said listeners select clips, that make guests to be attacked.
