10 Things You Didn’t Know About Singing Sensation Cici

28-year-old, born Busisiwe Thwala, from Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal is here to take over the music industry! Her career turned to gold within three months of her releasing her first single titled Runaway. Cici’s elegant and sexy style is accentuated by how she never oversings, giving the music a richer emotional body. It’s the idea of Cici that is as attractive as the music.

Here are 10 facts you probably didn’t know about Cici: 

1. Cici is not completely new to music having been featured on music albums by several DJs, including DJ Mbuso, DJ Terrance, DJ Nastee Nev and DJ Choice.

2. Cici also featured on e.tv drama series Khuthu Khatha, season one of SA Top Actor, did cabaret shows for Sun International and Montecasino, reached the top 10 finalists in SA Pop Stars and the SA Idols last 32.

3. The late Lebo Mathosa and Brenda Fassie who inspired her music career.

4. She was discovered through the South African Arts & Development Association (Saada) talent search.

5. Cici  dropped out of university to concentrate on her music career, she was studying psychology.

6. Lat year in October, she was announced as the overall winner and the prize was a recording contract with a label of her choice, and she chose 999 Music.

7. Cici says she has always wanted to be in music. “I don’t remember wanting to be anything else really,” she says

8.  She is an adrenaline junky and loves ice skating and any activity that involves action.

9.  Both her parents were pastors, but her father has since passed on.

10. This year, Cici got a nod for two Metro Awards nominations and also scooped an SABC Summer Song 2015 ‘best top 10 single’ award .
