Get-Well Wishes Pour In For Dr Sindisiwe van Zyl. One thing you can’t take away from South Africans is the spirit of Ubuntu. When one of our own is going through something, those around the individual come through with the much needed help. Even just a simple heartfelt message can go a long way. Social media’s favorite doctor, Sindisiwe van Zyl, must be beaming with gratitude after many of her fans took to Twitter to wish her a speedy recovery.

Dr van Zyl, recently shared photographs of herself strapped in a ventilator machine. It looks like the medical doctor and Radio personality might be suffering from a lung or respiratory-related illness. She didn’t go in detail about what she is going through, but nonetheless, her multitudes of fans immediately empathized with her.

Celebrities like Black Coffee, Simphiwe Dana, Motshidisi Mohono, Masasa Mbangeni joined well wishers, who want to see the good doctor fully recovered.

The Good Doctor is also known for using social media to share HIV-related, mental health and other medical information. Her scientific research has included guidelines to support HIV-affected individuals and couples to achieve pregnancy safely and COVID-19 and HIV co-infection. Dr. van Zyl who is also open about her health in general, once shared how she lost 41 kg while on a Banting diet.

Her work gained recognition across the country, with her being among the Mail & Guardian (2012) 200 Young South Africans. Dr. van Zyl was also among Glamour Women of the Year in 2018. She was awarded for excellence and activism in health and medicine. Many have come to know her when she became the host of Sidebar with Sindi on Kaya FM. Because of the vast knowledge she has, Dr. van Zyl has been a columnist for leading magazines like, Health24 and Bona. She has showed off her acting skills as a guest artist in the soap opera 7de Laan. We wish her a speedy recovery.
