Critics once labeled her a wannabe but we say she is ambitious and dedicated. Her career in the entertainment industry is more refined now and there’s no doubt that she is heading straight to the top.

Here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about the beautiful Thembi Seete.

1. Seete was born in 1977 in Soweto but grew up in Sebokeng in the Vaal where she stayed with her aunt and uncle.

2. Seete entered dance competitions while growing up in the Vaal before she hit the big time in jozi.

3. Her career highlights include being a member of revolutionary kwaito Boom Shaka and an acting role in the South African movie Hijack Stories.

4. She has also featured in a string of SABC 1 dramas such as Yizo Yizo, Gazlam and Zone 14.

5. Seete was a co-presenter on SABC 1’s dance show Jika Majika. She never considered herself too old for the show, “I think that my real age is 16, I’m just energetic and full of life.”

6. Her first single, Free, was laced out with beautifully engineered beats that potentially made the track a serious club banger.

7. She is in a relationship with Bobo Seritsane (former member of Demin)
