SA Celebs React to Losing Their Twitter Verification Badges

SA Celebs React to Losing Their Twitter Verification Badges. It’s a hectic day on the Twitter streets. The new boss Elon Musk wants users to start paying a subscription for having a verification badge. It started off as he was joking, but now its as real as it gets.

Now celebrities, government officials and other notable users all over that choose not to pay $8 per month for Twitter Blue, have lost the familiar check next to their names on the app. Musk has only paid for a few celebrities, and that includes Basketball star, LeBron James and author Stephen King. As for other prominent users like, Ciara, Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, JK Rowling,Pope Francis, Rihanna, Bill Gates, Donald Trump and many more, their accounts are no longer verified.

Even here in South Africa A-list celebs have joined the rest of tweeps without blue ticks. The likes of Thando Thabethe, Sizwe Dhlomo, Anele Mdoda, Robert Marawa, Mo Flava, Lerato Kganyago, Ayanda Thabethe, Lady Zamar, Thandiswa Mazwai, Moshe Ndiki, Kgomotso Christopher, Penny Lebyane, Mohale Motaung, Redi Tlhabi, Phil Mphela and so many others. Almost all of them are unfazed by what just happened and they have vowed that they won’t be paying for any verification badge. We remain to see though!

Check out how some of them reacted to walking up with no blue tick by their names.
