Paska is the Youth and Social Organisation Officer at the UNAIDS Regional office for Eastern and Southern Africa. He joined UNAIDS in 2010 in Geneva, Switzerland and worked there for two years after which he decided to take up an opportunity in the field as Youth Officer for UNAIDS in Eastern and Southern Africa based in Johannesburg, South Africa. His recognition is in relation to his engagement with the youth movement in HIV/AIDS advocacy.

Zanele Mabaso

She’s the founder and CEO of the Young Social Entrepreneurs Academy (Pty) Ltd and National Chairperson for Young Women Social Entrepreneurs (South Africa) which has over 8 chapters world-wide. She manages her time effectively and is currently an affiliate of the UNFPA South Africa Youth Advisory Panel and Youth Representative of the UNFPA SYP Program’s Regional Steering committee; The Safeguarding Young Peoples Program is a regional program being implemented in 8 Southern African countries. She is an advocate for women and girls reproductive health blogging for Girls Globe and strives to speak out for the socio-political rights and liberation of Women, Children and Adolescents in Africa.

Robert Matsaneng

Robert Matsaneng, born in Johannesburg South Africa is a Software developer and Entrepreneur. He developed an app to measure how much Lobola the bride may expect from her potential suitor. Lobola is a custom in the Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele and Swazi cultures where the bridegroom pays the family of the bride for her hand in marriage. Payment is made in the form of currency and live cows. The family of the bride sets the initial price.

Gcobani Qambela

Qambela is completing his master’s in Medical Anthropology at Rhodes, researching Xhosa men and issues of risk, responsibility and vulnerability in relation to HIV and Aids. His “big break” came in 2009, when he was selected by a Princeton University professor to help to research the “governance of infectious diseases”. By 2011 he was working full-time for the Centre for Aids Development, Research and Evaluation, where he still consults on HIV and Aids programme evaluations in the Eastern Cape.

Brewer is the chief executive of the eAdvance Group, the aim of which is to revolutionise South African education through the introduction of blended learning models that combine teaching in the classroom with the deliberate use of technology to elevate student results. Brewer and her friend Ryan Harrison have initiated a network of affordable private schools – called SPARK Schools – which implement this model for primary school learners
