Human Resources and Payroll Administrator position is available at Joburg City Theatres.

Joburg City Theatres require a Human Resources and Payroll Administrator to report directly to the company’s human resources manager.

Joburg City Theatres (JCT) is an entity of the City of Johannesburg that stimulates and operates Joburg Theatre (Braamfontein), Roodepoort Theatre and Soweto Theatre in order provide the integrated management of world class African theatre venues and a high quality entertaining, innovative and inclusive programme which serves the diverse communities of the City of Joburg in support of Joburg 2040.

A Human Resources and Payroll Administrator position is available for an achievement-orientated individual with initiative and a commitment to contribute to the vision of the organisation/company.

Purpose of the position: To provide support in the various human resource functions which includes recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, employee counselling and support the department by providing back up to Payroll regarding all Payroll processes and other general administration.

The successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively in the English language, be well presented with excellent customer service skills and be trustworthy and reliable.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
– Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process
– Identify and co-ordinate training and development of staff
– Provide advice and assistance with writing job descriptions
– Ensure that all UIF applications are completed and submitted to the Department of Labour.
– Submission of Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report ( ATR) to SETA
– Compile quarterly skills plans forms for submission to CATHSSETA
– Perform training needs analysis and skills audit
– Monitor daily attendance
– Back- up to the Payroll using Pastel Payroll system;
– Complete, capture and process Overtime Schedules.
– Leave administration.

Educational Requirements and experience:

– A recognised degree or diploma or equivalent qualification in field of Human Resources, coupled with three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience in the service industry;
– A minimum of three (3) years’ experience on Payroll, and a working knowledge of payroll processes and procedures;
– An extensive knowledge and practical experience using Pastel Systems (Pastel Partner) will be an added advantage.
– Knowledge of statutory requirements;
– Computer literacy in Excel; Word and Outlook will be an added advantage

Skills required: Good verbal, writing and presentation skills; Report writing skills; Strong reconciliation skills; proactivity with the ability to assist in all duties of the Human Resources section; have attention to detail and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
