Here are things you didn’t know about Jamie Bartlett.

1. Jamie was born in 1966 in Maidenhead, United Kingdom to a South African mother and a British father.

2. He attended three high schools, Rondebosch High School in Cape Town, St Stithians Boys College in Johannesburg and Brynston High School.

3. He then trained in speech and drama at University of Cape Town and post Graduate Master classes with Peter Bridgemont at Chrysalis Theater Acting School in London.

4. His biggest role has been on the local TV drama Rhythm City which airs in a number of African countries including Zimbabwe, Kenya, Botswana and Ghana.

5. He has been in many theater plays and he toured Switzerland with “The Fire Rising” play. He has also won a Vita award for best actor in the play “Cock and Bull Story”.

6. He used to act on Isidingo in the nineties  and he won Vita award and Crystal award for best South African actor for his role on the show.

7. He has won a SAFTA award for best actor for his role on Rhythm City.

8. He has appeared in more than twenty films both locally and internationally including White Lion, Prey, Red Dust and recently The Long Walk to Freedom.

9. He has worked alongside Hollywood’ big names like Steve James, Hillary Swank and Angelina Jollie. 

10. He has a son and was formally married to ex Generations actress Camilla Waldman, who played Anne de Villiers.
