(Letter to my newborn son)

Dear Lukhanyo,

Welcome to the world my son! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸ€—
Your dad and I are ecstatic that you are finally here. Although it’s been 2 weeks, it feels like 2 MONTHS, as we’ve barely gotten any sleep! πŸ₯΄,”
Masechaba said.

She also have credit to her baby daddy, who has been doing the most since birth. According to Masechaba, besides the nurse who gave Lukhanyo his first bath, her partner is the only person who has bathed him so far. The daddy and son duo, get to bond even more during these bathing sessions, while mommy gets to relax.

Masechaba also mentioned one of the problems she has encountered so far. She knew before Lukhano was born that she was going to breast feed him. This is because she wanted the best for him and was determined to make it work. It was not an easy thing to do at first, but the good news is that eventually it worked out.

The first few days were tough & we had to top up with formula. Your dad encouraged me every day & he believed in what I was trying to do, even during that initial period when my milk was not sufficient for you. Your dad never stopped believing & instead encouraged & even assisted me to latch you on my breast before your bottle feeds. With each passing day, the top ups became less frequent & smaller in quantity and eventually we abandoned the formula altogether,” she added.

In conclusion, Masechaba said, “They say a mother is a man’s first love so this is my very first love letter to you and the first of many to come. I love you son. Your brothers ADORE you. Thank you for inspiring the best version of me. Happy earth coming @Lukhanyo_LwezizweπŸ‘‘.
